Mixed Reality will not recognize my USB 3.0 or 3.1 ports. Change the driver on the ASMedia ports to be the MS ones. Nothing seems like to work. Afther I disabled the ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller (Msi not authorized by windows) then it recronized the 3.0 port but next page, in the installation, it is stuk again at 'Welcome. ASM1142 is an ASMedia first Universal Serial Bus 3.1 host controller, compliant with Intel eXtensible Hot Controller Interface specification revision 1.1, bridging PCI Express interface to two ports of USB3.1, up to 10Gbps high speed bandwidth, backward compatible with legacy USB function and devices.
Hi Everyone,
I have been working on this problem when I have time for the past several months without a solution. First all, system specs: Windows 10 pro 64 Core i7 4.0 GHz Nvidia GTX 980 Video card 32 GB Corsair Vengeance quad channel ram Asus Z97 motherboard WD Black 2 TB 6GB p/s 512 GB Sata 6 SSD Crucial 500 GB Samsng SSD Thermaltake 750 watt modular power supply Soundblaster Z sound card. The problem: intermittent cracking in sound and system/mouse lag every few seconds. Interestingly, it doesnt occur with every boot. I can usually tell when it is going to occur because startup time (usually about 7 seconds) is much delayed). It occurs in all settings, from streaming music, to listening to mp3s, to playing games. I have updated the BIOS, all my drivers that I can possibly find, video card, etc. I bought the Soundblaster Z just in case it was the motherboard. This actually started happening in Windows 7 pro and I upgraded to 10 to see if this would help the problem. I have also performed 2 complete system wipes and the problem returns. I have researched similar problems on other forums without much success. I downloaded latencymon. I basically found that the windows storport and miniport drivers were causing severe lag. I upgraded my SATA drivers to try to fix this. Now latencymon is saying that it is causing the most lag. This is the Asmedia 106x SATA host controller. I have updated this to the latest beta 3.1.9.0 driver. I dont know if I was on the right track with this or not. I have included a screenshot of latencymon below. Before updating Asus driver: Dropbox - Screenshot 2016-08-28 20.07.58.png After updating: Dropbox - Screenshot 2016-10-18 09.52.23.png I think I am on the right track with this, just need a little extra help. I sincerely appreciate your time. This article is no longer relevant. Please see our firmware update page here. Plugable is pleased to announce that a firmware update for our USB3-SATA-U3 adding the following features is now available:
Please Note: Updating from version 12092681f600 to 13022081f602 will cause the unit to not be able to read any hard drive data written to by the old version without reformatting them first! Any customers who have a USB3-SATA-U3 in roughly March-August 2012 who are NOT using 32 Bit PC and wishing to access volumes above 2.19TB should apply this update. To be clear, this update is recommended for most users with docks beginning with serial numbers 991 101, or 102. For customers with older docks with serial numbers beginning with an 8 or lower, these docks used a different chip set, and this update is not relevant. Issues with these older docks are more likely due to outdated USB 3.0 host controller drivers. For customers with newer docks beginning with serial numbers 103 or higher, this update should have already been applied and should not be necessary- feel free to use the firmware check utility below to confirm, and proceed with update as needed. Checking firmware versionAll units with serial numbers beginning with 991, 101, or 102 are expected to have firmware version 12092681f600. Mac users can open system information (open the Apple Menu, hold the alt/option key, and select system information). From the USB section of System Information, click to highlight the USB3-SATA-U3, and then verify the serial number as shown here: If your serial number in system profiler begins with 991, 101, or 102, this firmware update is recommended.
